A Missouri Winery Day Trip from St. Louis

Apple Creek Vineyard & Winery is just 1¼ to 1½ hours south of St. Louis on I-55 — a family-owned estate winery with handcrafted Missouri wines, the Creek Bank Café, live music, and scenic creekside seating in Friedheim, Missouri.

The easiest winery day trip on I-55

Head south on I-55, take exit 117 (Highway KK, Old Appleton), go 2.8 miles west, and you’re here. No winding backroads, no getting lost — just a straight shot down the interstate and a short turn into some of Missouri’s prettiest creek-bottom scenery.

Apple Creek sits right on the border of Cape Girardeau and Perry counties, about halfway between St. Louis and Cape Girardeau. Leave St. Louis in the morning, spend the afternoon on the deck with a glass of Norton and a view of Apple Creek, and still be home for dinner.

Our wrap-around deck overlooks Apple Creek and the surrounding valley — one of the best outdoor seating spots in Missouri, and a reason many St. Louis visitors come back every season.

Live music fills the deck on many Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Check our events calendar before you head out.
