The story behind our winery

A family-owned estate winery nestled along Apple Creek in Friedheim, Missouri — est. 2006

A family passion turned into something special

Apple Creek Vineyard & Winery was founded in 2006 by Matt & Shellie Gamel with Pat & Doug Hunt. What began as a shared passion for the land has grown into one of Missouri’s most scenic and welcoming estate wineries. Situated in rural Cape Girardeau County, our natural landscape and spectacular views of Apple Creek showcase each season — giving every visit its own character. Whether the vines are in bloom, the creek is reflecting fall color, or snow is dusting the hills, there’s always something worth the drive.

Relax. Breathe. Stay a while.

Sip wine in our spacious tasting room, out on our 360-degree wrap-around deck, or under the trees along the creek bank — every seat has our signature view of Apple Creek. Great food from the Creek Bank Café, live music on weekends, and handcrafted Missouri wines make it the perfect place to relax with family and friends.
Apple Creek is also an ideal venue for small weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, business meetings, private wine tastings, and intimate dinner parties. We’re located 2.8 miles west of I-55 at the State Highway KK Old Appleton exit (117) in Cape Girardeau County.
